A Chrome Proof Matte Top Coat (or chrome-resistant matte top) keeps chrome powder from sticking to the background, allowing you to create sharp "isolated" chrome designs.
- Apply & Cure: Paint your base color, apply the matte top coat, and fully cure it in your UV/LED lamp (typically for 60 seconds).
- Draw your design: Paint your desired nail art (like French tips or fine lines) directly on top of the cured matte coat using a no-wipe gel polish or gel paint.
- Cure partially: Cure this design just enough to make it tacky but not over-cured (usually 20 to 30 seconds).
- Apply chrome: Rub your chrome powder onto the nail. It will only stick to the uncured gel art. Dust away the excess with a fluffy brush.
- Seal it: Apply a standard, shiny top coat over the chrome areas, and cure.
